Academic tutor for PE at GCSE and A level

I am a qualified teacher, with a 2:1 degree in Sports Science and Management Studies from St Mary's University, Twickenham. I also have a Secondary PGCE in PE from Middlesex University. I have played a range of sports to a high level, including playing Rugby for Chobham 1st XV, and Cricket for the England Universities Team. I previously coached Chobham 1st XI Cricket Team.

I have taught PE for over ten years, and was the Head of PE at a Sixth Form College. I currently teach the OCR PE syllabus, and have been a moderator and an examiner for OCR, giving me valuable insight into the specific requirements of these exams. I have tutored both AQA and OCR specifications and can therefore tailor my tutoring to meet each student's individual academic requirements.

My specialist areas of the course are History of Sport, Exercise Physiology, and Sports Psychology, but I have a wealth of experience teaching a range of other topics, including Anatomy and Physiology, Acquiring Movement Skills and Socio-Cultural Studies.

The primary aim of my tutoring is to customise my teaching to my students' needs, with them identifying the areas of the syllabus with which they are less confident. Each of these areas is then discussed and demonstrated in a clear and accessible way. Using the subject specification, past papers and mark schemes, I then support my students so that they can create their own unique and highly individualised learning resource. This then allows them to learn at their own pace, and in their own time.
